We provide our clients with the supports they need to achieve their employment goals! GREAT has partnerships with the Canada Youth Employment Strategy, Indigenous Services Canada, Employment Ontario, and Service Canada to help you develop the skills you need to enter the labour market or retain employment.
Located in downtown Ohsweken, GREAT is housed in a 45,100 square-foot building consisting of four wings, each representing a longhouse. These wings feed into a central atrium, similar to the manner that Haudenosaunee villages were once structuredturn creates a successful community.
We help our clients prepare for a new career or career change. Our employment and training coaches are available for employment counselling, needs assessments, resume assistance, job referral, job placement and job leads.
Meet Brandon Barnes. At 47 years old, Brandon is a proud member of the Upper Mohawk nation and a father to two teenage girls. Like any parent, his primary goal has always been to provide a stable, meaningful life for his daughters. But as many know, having the drive to work and finding the right path are two very different things.
Brian Smyth, 46, a proud member of the Mohawk Nation, Turtle Clan, is a dedicated father of two who has made incredible strides in rebuilding his career and life with the help of GREAT’s programs and services.
Taima Beaver, a 29-year-old mother of two from Six Nations of the Grand River, is a member of the Mohawk Wolf clan. She has been a beneficiary of the services offered by GREAT since the age of 13, appreciating the diverse support provided to her throughout her journey.
