Position Summary

The Set-Up Operator is responsible for safely operating an overhead crane for installing and removing production tooling.

  • Responsible for safely operating a 10 ton and 25 ton crane for installing and removing production
  • Responsible for setting up tooling in die cast machines to run
  • Install auxiliary equipment as
  • Machine set-up as outlined on master set-up instruction parameters
  • Troubleshooting and repairing issues with cast dies during
  • Polishing and removing aluminum and graphite from
  • Assembling and disassembling complex cast
  • Ability to learn quickly and work
  • Work in a safe, efficient manner in co-operation with other factory
  • Participate in required training
  • Accurate, concise completion of downtime logs at the end of each
  • Conduct visual inspection of all cranes, forklifts, lifting equipment and tools for safe operation
  • Communicate and work effectively with team and other members of the


  • 3-5 years experience in an aluminum die-casting environment preferred
  • Problem Solving & Troubleshooting skills
  • 1 or more years of Crane or Forklift experience
  • TIG welding experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work with hand tools in a mechanical setting
  • Comfortable working within confined spaces
  • Physically able to lift 50
  • Reading, writing and mathematics
  • Highly organized, and self-motivated
  • Above average time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to change
  • Computer literate and mechanically inclined
  • Strong hand/eye coordination
  • Team player, able to work well with others
  • Good housekeeping in the work area of responsibility
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts (Days, Afternoons and Nights)
  • Overtime available when required

Salary: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour Additional pay:
