Restoration Worker  TOJ 
 One (1) Seasonal Fixed Term Position  
Salary Range: $39,100 - $50,800

Grand River Employment and Training Inc. (GRETI) is seeking a Restoration 
Worker to support ecological restoration projects and habitat enhancement 
initiatives. This role involves planting, maintaining, and monitoring native 
vegetation, removing invasive species, and assisting with site preparation and 
restoration activities. The Restoration Worker will help ensure projects meet 
environmental and organizational standards while contributing to the health of 
local ecosystems.

The Restoration Worker shall possess the following skills: Dependability, 
Teamwork, Operating Equipment from JD. In addition to these skills, you must 
possess the following qualifications:  

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED Diploma 
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in landscaping, horticulture, plant 
    identification &/or tree planting

Job Title: Restoration Worker TOJ

Reports To: Ecological Team Lead 

PURPOSE: 
The Restoration Worker is responsible for being part of an important growing team focused on 
carrying out ecological restoration, invasive species management, native plant gardening and 
landscaping projects. 


The Restoration Worker continuously strives to improve operations and streamline work 
processes through efficient and effective service coordination, team commitment and the 
achievement of organizational goals and objectives while maintaining the level of professionalism 
expected by GRETI (as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manuals) and upholding the ethics 
of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:  
The Restoration Worker shall possess High School Diploma or GED Diploma with a Minimum of 
one (1) year of experience in landscaping, horticulture, plant identification &/or tree planting.  
Applicants currently enrolled in high school will be considered

  • Ability to work Saturdays & overtime to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to work in all kinds of weather & adverse environmental conditions
  • Ability to learn fast & focus on attention to detail 
  • Ability to take direction & be a team player
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision 

Skills 

  • Excellent physical strength & endurance, able to lift minimum of 50 lbs. 
  • Positive attitude & strong work ethic
  • Strong desire to preserve & restore the natural environment
