 Haldimand-Norfolk REACH is a multi-service agency, providing Autism & Behaviour Services, Child & Youth Mental Health Services, Developmental Services, Youth Services, Adult Counselling Services, and several Early Learning Intervention & Care services including EarlyON Child & Family Centres and the Community Action Program for Children.

H-N REACH serves as the Lead Agency for Haldimand-Norfolk Child & Youth Mental Health Services, Coordinated Service Planning and the Student Nutrition Program in the Hamilton/Niagara Region.  Through our Contact Unit, the agency serves as the single point of access for a variety of children’s services.

H-N REACH is recognized as a local leader in community education, advocacy, inter-sector collaboration and Community Service Planning.

Casual, Temporary, Hourly

-no guarantee of hours

-coverage needed for all shifts, including day, evening, and overnight awake shift

Hourly Rates:  Step 1  $20.32  -  Step 2  $22.49  -  Step 3  $24.65

Union House provides a safe and nurturing living environment, along with life skills coaching and supportive counselling for at risk youth.  Offering innovative, strength-based programming, employees work alongside residents as they develop their skills and grow towards a successful transition to independence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide supportive counselling and life skills coaching to youth in an out of home care setting
• Function as a team member in the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized program plans
• Supervise and support residents in daily routines
• Maintain safety and security of the residents and program (house/property).

Qualifications:

• Relevant community college diploma or degree in social services
• Experience working with youth in an out of home care setting preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to perform duties both independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Office 365
• Vulnerable Sector Record Check (includes Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check) and Children’s Aid Society Declaration & Release
• Possession of a valid driver’s licence, $2 million vehicle liability insurance, clear Driver Abstract and use of a vehicle.
