Position Summary

Six Nations Natural Gas Limited (SNNG) is seeking a motivated individual interested in developing a career in utility regulation. The Regulatory Affairs Trainee is a developmental position designed to provide hands-on training in all aspects of natural gas utility regulations and Ontario Energy Board (OEB) Proceedings.

Working closely with the General Manager, regulatory consultants, legal counsel, and other industry professionals, the trainee will progressively develop the knowledge and practical experience necessary to support regulatory applications, represent the utility in regulatory proceedings, and ensure ongoing compliance with the requirements of the Ontario Energy Board.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in regulatory affairs while contributing to the long-term sustainability and affordability of natural gas service for the Six Nations community.

Regulatory Affairs

Under the guidance of experienced professionals, the Regulatory Affairs Trainee will learn to:

• Learn the complete OEB hearing process from the application through the final decision.

• Attend settlement conferences, technical conferences, and hearings.

• Monitor filing deadlines and regulatory compliance requirements.

• Maintain regulatory records and supporting documentation.

• Research legislation, regulations, board decisions, policies, and regulatory requirements.

• Support ongoing compliance with Ontario Energy Board licences, codes, rules, and reporting obligations.

Qualifications

Education

A diploma or degree in one or more of the following disciplines is considered an asset:

• Commerce

• Economics

• Public Administration

• Political Science

• Environmental Studies

• Law

• Indigenous Governance

• Regulatory Affairs

Career Development

This position has been established as part of Six Nations Gas's long-term succession planning strategy.

The successful candidate will receive progressive training and increasing responsibility with the goal of developing the knowledge, technical expertise, and practical experience necessary to support and ultimately complete regulatory functions on behalf of Six Nations Natural Gas.
