Personal Support Worker

Reports To: Home and Community Care Nurse Supervisor

Type of Employment: Full-time permanent

Wage: $22.66 to start

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Closing Date: Friday, May 14, 2021 4:00pm EST

Reporting to the Home and Community Care Nurse Supervisor, the Personal Support Worker provides in and out of home care to seniors, persons with disabilities and those with chronic illnesses.

In this role, you would find yourself providing with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, dressing, ambulation, meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, and monitoring of overall health.

What is Required:

  • Completion of a Personal Support Worker program from an approved educational institution
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certificate
  • Work experience with the elderly, disabled and those with chronic illness
  • Awareness of health issues specific to First Nations
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence and access to reliable transportation
  • Certificates in Palliative Care, Mental Health and Motivational Interviewing are considered assets
