The Board requires a qualified Journeyman Painter to work out of the Head Office on Erie Avenue in
Brantford. This is a permanent position.


  • Painter and Decoration Certificate of Qualification.
  • Excellent demonstrated interpersonal and communications skills, including literacy and
    numerical skills adequate to satisfy the major duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Ability to relate to principal and teachers with a positive customer service attitude.
  • Ability to exercise judgement and establish priorities.
  • Ability to safely set-up and use ladders and scaffolding as required.
  • Must be physically capable of safely lifting heavy loads, do repetitive work, work at heights
    and work outdoors.
  • Must have computer skills sufficient to efficiently use the Board’s e-mail and work order
    systems, or the ability and willingness to attain these skills in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to organize work, estimate materials and labour, and to work independently when
    required, while keeping to tight schedules.
  • Attendance and punctuality history will be a factor in selection.
  • Additional qualifications and abilities relative to the major duties and responsibilities may be
    an asset.
    The successful candidate must have their own reliable vehicle and may be required to use their own
    vehicle for the purpose of carrying Board equipment, tools, supplies, etc. and for travelling between job
    sites. Minimum Class G driver’s licence must be maintained while employed.


  • To prepare and paint walls, trim, in both interior and exterior, ceilings, floors and cabinetry
    to the Board’s standard specifications.
  • To remove graffiti from Board buildings and property.
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Job Specifications:
Hours of Work 8-hour day, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year; position may be on
afternoon shift (3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.)
Rate of Pay $26.02/hour. A very competitive benefit package is available.
