Position: Human Resources Administrator

Salary: $33.00 – $45.00/hour –Based on experience

Hours: 40 hours/week, 8:30a.m. – 4:30p.m., Monday – Friday

Under the supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer, the primary objectives of the Human Resources Administrator involve the implementation of a human resource plan that supports an employee-oriented culture with an emphasis on quality, continuous improvement, key employee development and retention. The Human Resources Administrator leads all HR practices and objectives, is up to date on all Federal and Provincial human resources laws and regulations and current on all Federal/Provincial laws regarding employment practices.


1.       Advance the HR Department – Oversees the implementation of HR programs and policies.  Identify opportunities for improvement and resolves problems;

2.       Training and Development – Coordinates all HR training programs.  Provides necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops, manuals and employee handbook;

3.       Recruitment – Establishes and leads the recruitment and hiring practices necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce;

4.       Employee Relations – Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship;

5.       Compensation and Benefits – Monitors best practices in compensation and benefits through research and up-to-date information on available products;

6.       Law – Leads organization compliance with all existing federal/provincial legislations relating to employment;

7.       Organizational Development – Designs, directs and manages an organizational wide process for development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organizational design and change management.


1.       Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management OR CHRL/CHRP designation OR in process of completing final courses/scheduled to write CHRL/CHRP exam PLUS a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a Human Resources capacity;

2.       Exceptional leadership and management experience;

3.       Oversee and maintains HRIS functions and integration;

4.       Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;

5.       Knowledge in employment law, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations, safety, training and development, compensation and recruitment;

6.       Intermediate to advanced computers skills in Microsoft Office suite;

7.       Experience in a First Nations community, preferred.
