Salary Range:  $58,248 – 69,346 per annum

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Bookkeeper in our Finance Department to join our  team on a full-time permanent basis. 

This position will perform their duties with a high degree of personal and professional integrity, while building collaborative relationships and partnerships with all individuals based on mutual respect.

This position is responsible for ensuring all duties are carried out in alignment with the mission and vision of the Society, with a commitment to social justice. 

JOB DUTIES

  1. Petty cash disbursements and reconciliation.
  2. Prepare and track invoices and accounts receivables:
    • Prepare monthly A/R invoices for any recoveries; track/reconcile outstanding accounts receivable.
  3. Accounts payable
    1. Prepare bank deposits, process credit card payments, and journal data entries
    2. Under the direction of the Director of Finance: tracks, reviews and processes payments for external vendors
    3. Troubleshooting accounts payable issues.
    4. Prepares reports as required
  4. Preparation of month-end general ledger entries as required
  5. Participates in the Audit process as required.
  6. Prepares, produces and analyzes various Oracle/Curam reports.
  7. Prepares financial reports and forecasts as requested.
  8. Updates the tracking and projection spreadsheets and troubleshoots issues.
  9. Provides back-up support for other team members as required.
  10. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  1. Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business discipline.
  2. 5-10 years’ experience in Bookkeeping/Accounting.
  3. Strong knowledge and understanding of Oracle.
  4. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  5. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  6. Excellent command of MS Excel software.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  8. Ability to work independently, and in a team environment.
  9. Knowledge and commitment to anti-oppressive/anti-racist philosophy.

Additional Requirements for this Position:

  • Computer literate with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office and proprietary child welfare systems and programs.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to, and work ethic in leadership and role models behaviours that demonstrates the Mission and Vision of the Catholic Children’s Aid Society.
  • Able to affirm and integrate in the delivery of services the Society values which reflect the Agency’s Catholic faith, heritage, culture and traditions.
  • Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
  • Bilingual French/English is an asset.
  • At the time of hire, documents required will include:
    • Acceptable Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Police clearance
    • Provincial Child Protection Record Check
