Kayanase Greenhouse Worker

One Year Contract – TOJ

Kayanase is seeking a responsible, reliable individual who has a passion for supporting Kayanase’s mandate of restoring indigenous species. The Greenhouse worker will assist in greenhouse & nursery production functions along with preparing and assembling plants for orders. If you are interested in working in the greenhouse industry; have strong interpersonal skills, and interest in learning about native plant species, this position it right for you!

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 10 with a willingness to actively learn
  • A strong desire to preserve and restore the natural environment
  • Physically fit & hardworking, able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.

Job Title:                    Greenhouse Worker

Reports To:                Plant Production Lead

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

The Greenhouse Worker will work under the direction and the supervision of the Plant Production Lead.

  1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Greenhouse Worker is responsible for overall Greenhouse functions with other team members of Kayanase.

In support of Kayanase’s goal of providing quality products and services, this position shall continuously strive to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively with other staff to provide quality

  1. QUALIFICATIONS:

The Greenhouse Worker shall possess a minimum of Grade 10 with a willingness to actively learn.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge in horticulture &/or nursery production
  • Knowledge of Native plants

Skills

  • Willingness to actively learn
  • Strong desire to preserve & restore the natural environment
  • Ability to work in all kinds of weather
  • Physically fit & hardworking, able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Ability to collect data in an organized & detail specific manner
  • Ability to take direction, follow instruction & be a team player
