Grand River Employment and Training Inc. (GRETI) is seeking an organized, professional, client oriented individual who has a passion for helping others achieve their goals through the delivery of workshops, recruitment events and community outreach in employment and training initiatives.

As the Employment and Training Coach you shall possess the following skills – communication, conflict resolution, problem solving along with critical thinking. In additional to these outlined skills, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Social Work or a related discipline
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with the public, preferably an employment and training organization

  1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Employment and Training Coach will assist the Team Leaders in delivering programs and services to achieve organizational goals and targets. The main purpose of the Employment and Training Coach is to assist the clients in meeting employment and training objectives.

  1. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The Employment and Training Coach shall possess a Diploma or Degree in Social Work or a related discipline with a minimum of three (3) years of experience working with the public, preferably at an employment and training organization.

Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of career assessment tools and their application
  • Knowledge of sources of labour market information within the community and external to the community
  • Familiarity with community service organizations and their referral process
  • Knowledge of Computers and Microsoft Office applications

Skills

  • Strong employment counselling and interviewing skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a wide variety of assignments with minimal supervision
