Haldimand-Norfolk REACH is a multi-service agency, providing Children’s Mental Health Services, Autism & Behaviour Services,
Developmental Services, Youth Services, Adult Counselling Services, and several Early Learning Intervention & Care services including
EarlyON Child & Family Centres and the Community Action Program for Children.
H-N REACH serves as the Lead Agency for Haldimand Norfolk Children’s Mental Health Services, Coordinated Service Planning and the
Student Nutrition Program in the Hamilton/Niagara Region. Through our Contact Unit, the agency serves as the single point of access for
a variety of children’s services.
H-N REACH is recognized as a local leader in community education, advocacy, inter-sector collaboration and Community Service
Planning.
Early Learning & Care Unit- Existing Vacancy
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR Ref. #2026-11
Part-time, Permanent, Hourly
-School-Age Program (program runs September to June)
- Waterford location
-minimum of 22 hours per week during the school year with possibility of extension
-day shifts including planning and administrative time & afternoons 2:00pm-6:00pm, Monday – Friday
Wage Rate: Step 1 $17.60 (+$8.26)* - $17.60 (+$8.93)* - $18.74 (+$9.66)*
*(Rates in bracket include the Wage Subsidy, Wage Enhancement, and Canada-Wide Early Learning
and Child Care grants applied to the base hourly rates as per funder guidelines, for eligible individuals).
The licensed before and after school program, offers care and supervision to children in Junior
Kindergarten (JK) and up to 12 years of age. The program offers educational activities, including gross
motor games, sports, time to complete homework, nutritious snacks, special programming and
spontaneous fun. Hours of operation are from 7:00 am until the start of school then from the end of
school to 6:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
To develop programing with children guided by their interests, in play-based learning environments at
Before & After-School Programs.
Qualifications:
• Early Childhood Education Diploma (registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
in good standing)
• Experience leading children’s activities ideal
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• A minimum of one year experience preferred
• Current certification in First Aid/CPR-C
• Verification of the required immunizations/immunity, as required by the local Medical Officer of
Health
• Vulnerable Sector Record Check (includes Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check) and
Children’s Aid Society Declaration/Release
• Possession of a valid driver’s licence, $2 million vehicle liability insurance, clear Driver Abstract
and use of a vehicle.
