One Year Contract – IT Support (Training on the Job)

The IT Support will provide international technology (IT) system support services across the organization, assisting with IT project management, provide computer and software training to all GRETI staff, maintain a record of activity reports, and support the IT Systems Administrator. If you are versatile, have sharp problem solving skills and a keen eye for detail, this position will definitely be for you!

QUALIFICATIONS

The IT Support – TOJ shall possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, a willingness to learn or upgrade in the respective field and an interest in computer science or computer systems engineering or related discipline and have minimal experience with networks. Additional college/university/private school level courses are an asset.

As the IT Support you will possess skills in client service, problem solving, and critical thinking.  In addition to these skills, you must meet these qualifications:

  • Interest in computer systems, networks, and internet connections
  • Knowledge in computer systems, networks, internet connections,
  • Must be self-directed and able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to take direction and follow instructions

The IT Support will assist with IT project management, resource management, hardware installation and maintenance, troubleshooting and communicating with all users of the Grand River Employment and Training Inc. technology infrastructure.

DUTIES

The IT Support – TOJ shall complete the following duties as required by the position:

IT Support and Assistance

  • Assist in maintaining, troubleshooting and administering the use of GRETI’s networks, computer workstations, emails, connections to the internet and peripheral equipment.
  • Provide problem solving services to network uses.
  • Control and monitor email use, web navigation and installed software
  • Maintain and update GRETI’s website as required
  • Provide computer and software training to GRETI staff
