At 38 years old, Samantha Doolittle is a shining example of resilience and determination. A proud Mohawk, bear clan and a mother of two, Sam's journey with GREAT has been nothing short of inspiring.

Sam first encountered GREAT when she was just 16, seeking a summer job opportunity. Little did she know that this initial interaction would pave the way for numerous opportunities and support in the future. From funding her education in Personal Support Worker and Human Resources courses to providing guidance as she transitioned into HR, GREAT has supported Sam constantly.

“Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something, use that as motivation”

Despite facing numerous challenges and barriers along the way, including dealing with personal hardships and family obligations, Sam never wavered in her pursuit of a successful career. A diagnosis of Fibromyalgia following an injury on the job forced her to make a career change, leading her to pursue studies in Executive Office Assistant and ultimately finding her passion in Human Resources.

Sam is currently working as a human resources manager at Six Nations Polytechnic, and her dedication and commitment to her role are not going unnoticed. Her supervisor praises Samantha for her leadership and people-centric approach, emphasizing her role in developing a cohesive and collaborative workplace culture.

Looking towards the future, Sam envisions further growth in HR while also pursuing her goal of fluently speaking the Cayuga language. Her community involvement and advocacy for Indigenous knowledge in HR practices showcase her commitment to giving back and creating positive change.

Reflecting on her journey, Sam credits GREAT for playing a significant role in her personal and professional development.
