Chris Causyn's success story inspires all who may be facing challenges in their career path. At 39 years old, Chris embarked on a journey of transformation that led him to new opportunities and fulfillment in his professional life.
In 2023, Chris accessed GREAT's programs and services to obtain his DZ training and certification, taking a significant step towards his goal of becoming a firefighter. Despite facing economic constraints and lacking the necessary licensing and training, he persevered in pursuit of his dream.
His dedication paid off when he secured a volunteer position with the SN Fire Station, leveraging his DZ license. This experience allowed him to give back to his community and paved the way for his next career move.
Chris recently accepted a position as a Correctional Officer with Sprucedale Youth Services in Simcoe. This opportunity not only aligned with his goal of becoming a firefighter but also provided him with the chance to complete his firefighter certification. In five years, Chris envisions himself as a full-time firefighter with the Six Nations Fire Department while continuing his career with Youth Justice Services.
