Jessie Jonathan, a 35-year-old single father, faced numerous challenges while growing up on both Six Nations and Brantford. Despite facing adversities, he persevered and decided to pursue his GED through GREAT. Jessie’s determination and hard work paid off when he successfully passed the program, which opened up new opportunities for him.
Jessie learned about GREAT’s assistance through various sources and decided to try it. Although he faced setbacks due to incarceration, the supportive staff at GREAT gave him a second chance. Jessie reattempted the program and successfully passed between 2016 and 2018, paving the way for his career in welding and fabrication. He secured a job at Cambridge Pro Fab and has thrived in the welding and construction division ever since.
Cameron is a full-time welder at Cambridge Pro Fab, where he aspires to progress to a welder/fitter role. Despite the long hours, he finds fulfillment in the work and enjoys its challenges.
GREAT played a crucial role in Cameron's personal and professional development by providing him with the necessary skills and opportunities to pursue a career in welding. He credits GREAT for igniting his passion for welding and transforming his professional life.
