Language and Culture Initiative

Objective

The Language and Culture Initiative program is designed to assist eligible clients who are seeking educational training/on-the-job training/employment assistance in the indigenous language and culture sectors. Financial assistance provided towards wages, tuition, supplemental allowances, employment start-ups or maintenance, program completion bonuses, etc. 

 

Program Details

To qualify, participants must be:

  • An unemployed or underemployed individual
  • Status band member of Six Nations of the Grand River who is actively seeking employment or training in Indigenous Language and Culture
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Be in need of assistance to prepare to enter the labour market, obtain a job, or become self-employed
  • Registered with Grand River Employment and Training
