Employment Support

Objective

The Employment Support program is designed to provide supports necessary for individuals to enter or re-enter the labour market/training programs. Employment Supports may be used to cover costs, including but not limited to: 

  • Purchase of work clothes
  • Certification and Testing
  • Equipment
  • Bus Tickets
  • Drivers License Fees
  • Birth Certificates
  • Criminal Records Official Pardon
  • Police Checks
  • Drivers Ed (non-student)
  • Internet set-up fee
  • iPad/Laptop/Tablet
  • Purchasing/Updating Software
  • Childcare
  • Lost ID
  • Transportation Costs

Program Details

To qualify for the Employment Support program, participants must be:

  • Within 4 weeks of new employment
  • Status band member of Six Nations of the Grand River
  • Employed individuals who are changing employment fields
  • Clients who have successfully obtained employment (part-time or full-time, non-student*)
  • Clients who are in receipt of wages on a GREAT subsidized placement
  • Registered with Grand River Employment and Training
