Haldimand-Norfolk REACH is a multi-service agency, providing Children’s Mental Health Services, Autism & Behaviour Services, 
Developmental Services, Youth Services, Adult Counselling Services, and several Early Learning Intervention & Care services including 
EarlyON Child & Family Centres and the Community Action Program for Children. 
H-N REACH serves as the Lead Agency for Haldimand Norfolk Children’s Mental Health Services, Coordinated Service Planning and the 
Student Nutrition Program in the Hamilton/Niagara Region. Through our Contact Unit, the agency serves as the single point of access for 
a variety of children’s services. 
H-N REACH is recognized as a local leader in community education, advocacy, inter-sector collaboration and Community Service 
Planning.
Youth & Justice Services Unit- Existing Vacancy
YOUTH SUPPORT WORKER - Union House Residence Ref. #: 2026-13
Part-time, Temporary, Hourly 
-12 month contract
-2 positions available
Salary: Step 1 $24.17- Step 2 $26.82 - Step 3 $29.46
 
Hours of Work:
• 3:00pm – 10:30pm on a scheduled rotation. 
• Minimum of 26 hours per week, with additional hours for regularly scheduled meetings, professional 
development, and other program related opportunities. 
Union House offers safe and supportive out-of-home care for youth ages 16 and 17 who are facing barriers. By 
applying strength-based and trauma informed practices, employees work alongside residents as they develop 
their skills and grow towards a successful transition to independence.
Responsibilities: 
• Act as a primary worker for a designated number of residents
• Provide life skills coaching and supportive counselling in both individual and group settings 
• Engage with youth and team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care 
• Facilitate the admission and departure of residents
• Consult and coordinate service with community partners and identified supports 
• Initiate and participate in community outings and recreational activities with youth
Qualifications: 
• Relevant community college diploma or degree in social services 
• Minimum of one year experience working with youth in an out of home care setting
• Demonstrated understanding of risk management 
• Proven leadership skills & experience working with placement students and/or volunteers 
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Ability to perform duties both independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Office 365
• Broad Sector Check (includes Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check & Vulnerable Sector Record 
Check); Children’s Aid Society Declaration & Release
• Possession of a valid driver’s licence, $2 million vehicle liability insurance, clear driver abstract and use of 
a vehicle.
