Native Horizons Treatment Centre is looking to fill the position of Wellness Mentor (Support), who, under the direction of the Program Supervisor, assumes responsibility for the provisions of supportive counselling of clients, facilitation of group sessions, recreational activities; design and delivery of program sessions and activities; maintenance of accurate information files and AMIS reporting entries; ensuring the safety of all occupants within the facility as well as property, and working jointly with all staff on a team approach.  Shifts are afternoon and evenings, also weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education, Certified Addictions Counsellor I or II, or related post-secondary education in Social Services with counseling and/or two years related work experience in the addictions or helping field.
• Experience working in and/or knowledge of addictions residential treatment programs.
• Experience in group facilitation, workshop design and delivery.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and computer skills.
• Reliable and stable as evidenced by previous experience.
• Experience working within First Nation communities.
• Minimum of 2 years of being substance free.
• Actively involved in a current personal recovery plan.
• Submission of current Police Check + Vulnerable Sector Check; and Drivers Abstract
