Traditional Indigenous Elder/Cultural Advisor/Knowledge Holders

CSC is seeking the interest of applicants for part-time and full-time Traditional Indigenous Elder, Cultural Advisor and/or Knowledge Holder contracts in Ontario. Locations may include assisting Indigenous offenders within federal institutions so they may benefit from culturally specific healing and interventions in individual and group settings, conducting culturally appropriate ceremonies, providing counselling, supporting programming, working in partnership with all CSC staff, and providing input into offender case management reports. 

CSC is also seeking the interest of applicants for smaller part time Traditional Indigenous Elder, Cultural Advisor, and/or Knowledge Holder community contracts.

Responsibilities include virtually supporting Indigenous programming for offenders who are on release in the community. The Elder, Cultural Advisor, and/or Knowledge Holder will provide cultural support and expertise to Indigenous Community Program Officers and provide teachings to the Indigenous offenders as needed. Maximum 10 hours a week while the program is being delivered. 

The successful individual(s) must be able to obtain an Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance from the Government of Canada.
