Technical Purchasing Agent

Technical Purchasing Agent is responsible for acquiring technical goods and services necessary for the High Voltage/ Medium Voltage / Low Voltage Power Distribution Equipment

A background in HV/MV/LV Power Distribution & Electrical Engineering an asset.

Job Responsibilities:
1.Supplier Management:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

2.Procurement:

• Purchase technical equipment, components, or materials according to the site specific construction installation requirements.
• Ensure that purchases meet the technical specifications and quality standards.

3.Cost Control:

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Analyze total costs, including shipping, handling, and warehousing.

4.Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of orders, contracts, and vendor communications.

5.Coordination and Communication:

• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to understand technical requirements.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders to forecast needs and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or payment with suppliers.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree / diploma in Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering and or Power Distribution degree/diploma
• Experience: Several years of experience in technical procurement, supply chain management, for HV/MV/LV Equipment

Skills:

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of the technical specifications and requirements of
  the products being procured for the HV/MV/LV Power Distribution Equipment
• Attention to Detail: Precision in ensuring that purchases meet quality standards and
  specifications.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues related to procurement, such as delays or quality
  concerns
