Position:                      Teaching Assistant – Cayuga (2 positions available)

Terms:                          Permanent, full-time (1 for Elementary, 1 for Secondary)

Job Summary: In alignment with the Kawenni:io/Gaweni:yo vision, the Teaching Assistant will be responsible to work with the Classroom Teacher to provide a culturally-based education program that promotes understanding and pride in being Rotinonhsion:ni/Hodinohso:ni, while preparing students to deal successfully with the complexities of contemporary society. During teacher absences, the TA will be required to step in and provide classroom instruction and guidance to the classroom in an efficient manner.

Education/Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Classroom Assistant Training or equivalent

Knowledge

• A vast knowledge of the Rotinonhsion:ni/Hodinohso:ni culture and/or
• Can speak Cayuga with some
• Working knowledge in operating a computer system with spreadsheets, word processing, database applications and Windows
