Meet Kylie 👋🏽

Kylie Miller is a 26-year-old mother to a 4-year-old son. She is currently employed as a full-time Early Childhood Educator Assistant at Stoneridge Children’s Centre!

Born and raised in Six Nations, Kylie was familiar with the supports available at GREAT and utilized many of the programs growing up. In her most recent training program, her supervisor suggested she obtain more experience by applying for a Training-On-The-Job Placement (T.O.J).

She commended the program, as it allowed her to gain practical experience before making the decision to pursue a career in the childcare industry. With assistance from GREAT, after completing the T.O.J Kylie successfully obtained full-time employment!

“There is no shame in dipping your toes in the water. If you have a passion for doing a job that you are unsure of, just try it out. It may change your life and open the door to a new world of opportunity. Gaining that experience is better than not having it at all, and GREAT is there to help you succeed at whatever it is that you want to do. Reach for the stars!”

⚠️ As of February 18th, 2021, the GRETI Opportunities Centre, located at 16 Sunrise Court in Ohsweken, will be closed until March 8th, 2021, to do extensive cleaning and sanitization of the building.

This closure now includes ALL staff and organizations within the facility.

What does this mean for our clients and the community? 🤔

Attention secondary school co-op students 📚💻

Did you know that secondary school students taking co-op on their current timetables can receive financial support? Even students who already took co-op in 1st or 2nd quad are eligible to receive $300!

🍎Whether students completed their co-op virtually, in-person, or took a course online through their high school, they are all eligible for the co-op start-up funding.

If you had or will be completing an onsite placement, you can get your mileage covered through GREAT. If you've already completed your co-op and travelled to and from your placement you can get reimbursed for your mileage.
