Overview: Working from a holistic, and spiritually responsive approach, NNHC provides residents with a
culturally based healing program.. Our staff inspire young people in healing, hope, meaning, and identity. The 
Youth Support Worker will responsible for providing quality services to the residents at NNHC. Under the 
supervision of the Services Manager, the Youth Support Worker will play an integral role in supporting young 
people on their healing journey. This position’s rate of pay is $25-$27/an hour for a total of up to 36 hours per 
week.
Responsibilities
• Prepare reports or case notes/ histories, including mandatory reporting under CYFS and SOR-RL 
(system- Ontario)
• Medication administration including administer and document prescribed medications, monitor and 
document health concerns, maintain medication logs (MAR)
• Follow infection prevention protocols
• Transporting clients for off-site events, medical appointments and other.
• Appraise clients' needs or eligibility or rights for specific services
• Assist in implementing life skills, crafts, or other workshops and supervise at all tiems.
• Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs
• Behavioural management
• Housekeeping activities and light food preparation
• Provide suicide and crisis intervention
• Resolve conflict situations.
• Supervise activities of young people in treatment and on recreational trips (5-10 youth)
• Implement behaviour management programs
• Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs
• Assist clients/guests with special needs
• Safely transport and accompany clients to appointments and social outings
• Overnight Duties would include: Conduct scheduled bed checks, Respond to nighttime crises and 
complete overnight documentation
• Work as a team and independently
Qualifiications:
▪ Child and Youth Worker diploma, Behavioural Management /Sciences Diploma, or Social Worker. 
PSW may be considered with at least 10 years experience.
▪ 5 years experience minimum with indigenous youth.
▪ Indigenous candidate with lived experience preferred
▪ Person-centered individual with a positive attitude and desire to help indigenous youth

▪ Computer proficiency or ability to learn with experience in case noting and documentation
▪ Ability to adapt to changing circumstances in program and in youth lives
▪ Ability to work day, evening, weekend, and night shifts.
▪ Strong understanding of the needs of indigenous youth
Credentials (upon hiring):
▪ Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
▪ Emergency First aid and CPR
▪ Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certificate
▪ Physical Assessment
▪ Driver’s Abstract
Other Details
▪  Staff-to-youth ratio (typically 1:5)
▪  Level of clinical supervision (on site Manager)
▪  On-call supervisor support (available after 4:30 pm)
▪  Emergency protocols in place
▪  Police involvement procedures in place
▪  Child welfare reporting responsibilities training on Duty to Report
Working Conditions:
• Work with youth with trauma histories and complex behavioural needs
• Exposure to high-stress crisis environments
• Indigenous ceremony and incidence of smoke, smudge, or smoking pipe for the purposes of ceremony 
and visioning.
