To be eligible to apply for a summer student position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada as a student.
  • In possession of a Social Insurance Number (card) at time of hire.
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis and returning to school in the fall of 2026.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for supporting Halton Region’s Climate Change Response and Sustainability initiatives through research on related topics.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on issues that relate to climate change and sustainability 
  • Support the implementation of a Climate Change Response Framework 
  • Gather data, information and synthesize information
  • Prepare briefing notes, resource material as required 
  • Conduct environmental scans and prepare summary reports 
  • Respond to research requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned
