POSITION SUMMARY

If working to make in a Hospital setting appeals to you, then we would like to hear from you. We currently have a vacancy for a Maintenance Student in our Maintenance Department.  

UNIT PROFILE 
Under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities and Capital Projects, performs grounds maintenance duties such as grass cutting, weeding, trimming, etc. as well as any other related maintenance duties as assigned.  

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 
• Minimum Grade 12 education.   
• The successful candidate will be currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational program. 
• Demonstrates ability to accept assignments, delegation, requests and follow instructions. 
• Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the health care team, both verbal and written. 
• Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly. 
• Mature, honest and reliable person 
• Ability to safely operate grass cutting equipment (ride on and push lawnmowers, weed trimmers, etc.). 
• Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality. 
• Safety (patient, worker & workplace) is a WHGH Corporate Priority.  The successful applicant will demonstrate good stewardship in the identification, reporting and mitigation of unsafe acts or conditions. 
• Experience in performing grounds maintenance duties is preferred.
