JOB SUMMARY: The Special Needs Resource Consultant Supervisor reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Early Years Child Care Manager.

 

The Special Needs Resource Consultant Supervisor is responsible for providing a program to support the inclusion of children with special needs.  Will understand How Does Learning Happen.  Being proactive in addressing needs for those children enrolled in Six Nations licensed childcare settings, resource drop-in centre(s) and those homes connected with Six Nations Private Home Daycare Agency.  Will supervise, evaluate, and monitor Special Needs Resource Consultant team.

$34.73/hour

 

*A competitive compensation package will be offered commensurate with qualifications. *

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a registered member of the College of Early Childhood Educators AND

have a Resource Teacher Certificate or am currently enrolled to obtain certification.

  • Will have a minimum of two years working experience in a childcare setting.
  • Will have a vehicle and a valid Class G Ontario driver’s license.
  • Must submit and ensure immunizations are up to date.
  • Must submit a health assessment as according to Child Care Early Years Act
  • Must pass a criminal/vulnerable sector check.
  • Must sign and submit an offence declaration every calendar year in which a vulnerable sector check is to be obtained.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Will be thoroughly familiar with the Child Care and Early Years Act
  • Will have extensive knowledge and application of preschool screening and assessment tools.
