JOB SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse Reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Manager of Iroquois Lodge. The purpose of the Registered Nurse – Charge Nurse is to provide safe, competent and quality nursing care to residents and to supervise the care given by RPNs and PSWs. The Registered Nurse – Charge Nurse will demonstrate competence at their current level of nursing practice and will seek out assistance from Manager to address areas of practice that he/she is unfamiliar with.

The Registered Nurse – Charge Nurse will collaborate with other members of the health care team and will be required to plan, direct and coordinate all activities necessary for the management of the unit. He/she will work closely with the Attending Physician. The Registered Nurse – Charge Nurse will collaborate with the Activity, Dietary, and other personnel in order to provide quality care to residents. The Registered Nurse – Charge Nurse will advocate for improvements in policies and procedures related to residents.
