CareerLink Employment Centre is seeking a detail-oriented, multi-tasking professional to act as the first contact for job seekers, employers, and other visitors to our centre.

Summary:

Reporting to the Coordinator and working closely with Employment Consultants, Job Developers and other support staff, The Receptionist / Data Entry Clerk works within Fedcap Canada / MLITSD (Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development) Employment Ontario Guidelines and Agency Policies and Procedures to perform reception and administrative support activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Greets all visitors in a friendly and professional manner; assesses visitor’s needs; schedules appointments accordingly
  • Responds promptly to all inquiries treating clients with equity, dignity, and respect
  • Provides information on and promotes the Centre’s services and other community services as required
  • Greets and provides support to BTS (Bridges to Success) clients
  • Manages phone system, responds to email enquiries, and forwards incoming calls and messages
  • Maintains inventory of standard office and client supplies
  • Provides administrative support by preparing and formatting routine professional correspondence and documents such as resumes, spreadsheets and marketing materials
  • Assist clients using resource area computers with basic computer functions including assistance with accessing and navigating websites, printing, scanning, faxing, editing documents,
  • Provides data entry support to staff with job entries, client retention and client outreach

Qualifications:

 

  • Completion of Business or Office Administration Certificate or Diploma, or related field of study or, equivalent combination of education and experience in Employment Services is required
  • Preference given to individuals with experience working in FedCap Cares and CaMS
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is required
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current Microsoft Office applications, advanced office automation systems and Adobe software, with intermediate skill in word processing required
  • Verified keyboarding skills; excellence and accuracy in spelling, grammar and data entry is required
  • Proven ability to navigate internet research and technology including smart phones required
  • Must possess excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal and customer Service skills
  • Knowledge of community services throughout the Brantford/Brant County an asset

 

Job Specifications

Hours of Work

Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm.; additional hours may be required. 35 hours per week.

Rate of Pay

Wages: $22.01 per hour

A competitive benefits plan is available through a provincial benefits trust plan (extended health, dental, life insurance, AD&D).

OMERS pension plan.
