Salary: $20.00 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m., must be flexible to adjust work schedule based on operational requirements, with on-call availability during winter months or peak service periods

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Property Services Operator is responsible for the year-round maintenance and upkeep of band-owned properties, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and visually presentable. This position plays a key role in maintaining community infrastructure through seasonal tasks such as snow removal, salting, lawn care, and general property maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  2. Equipment operation and safety certifications (e.g., backhoe, snowplow, grader, tractor, etc.) are considered an asset.
  3. Must have a valid Class G driver’s license; Class DZ driver’s license is considered an asset.
  4. Experience operating light equipment such as pick-up mounted snowplows, lawn mowers, trimmers, and salters is preferred.
  5. Experience operating heavy equipment, including garbage trucks (requires a Class DZ license), is considered an asset.
  6. Experience in property maintenance, groundskeeping, or public works operations.

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO STARTING EMPLOYMENT:

  1. The successful candidate must submit a recent Criminal Record Check, Level 2 (completed within a 30-day timeframe), at their own expense.
  2. The successful candidate must submit a copy of their valid driver's license and a recent driver abstract (completed within a 30-day timeframe), at their own expense.
  3. The successful candidate must submit a copy of applicable educational qualifications (certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.).
