JOB PURPOSE
 

The Marketing and Events Coordinator exists to support the promotion and visibility of Six Nations Polytechnic by developing and delivering high-quality marketing initiatives and coordinating successful events that increase awareness of SNP’s programs and services. The role ensures marketing materials and events are strategically aligned with organizational priorities, branding standards, and enrolment goals. The Marketing and Events Coordinator is responsible for increased engagement and awareness among target audiences, well-executed events, and effective collaboration across departments.

The Marketing and Events Coordinator is required to perform all duties consistent with the governance values and operating policies of Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) while fostering positive relations with staff, students, stakeholders, and the community; contributing to a culturally supportive teaching, learning and work environment consistent with Hodinǫshǫ:nih/Rotinonhson:ni values of Ga’nigohi:yo:/Kanikoriio (Respect and the Good Mind). 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
 

Marketing and Promotional Content Development 30%

  • Responsible for creating, coordinating, and maintaining high-quality marketing materials that promote SNP programs and services.
  • Working with Digital Content Specialist and external vendors to produce brochures, posters, social media graphics, videos, and presentations
  • Writing and editing advertising copy, reports, and promotional content
  • Ensuring all materials align with SNP branding and style guidelines
  • Reviewing and editing marketing materials prior to distribution
  • Other related duties as assigned or required. 

Event Planning, Coordination, and Delivery 30%

  • Plans, coordinates, and supports the successful execution of SNP events from concept through evaluation.
  • Coordinating logistics such as catering, vendors, schedules, and site requirements
  • Developing event budgets, requesting quotes, and tracking expenses
  • Managing event planning documents and timelines
  • Acting as the primary on-site contact during events and overseeing smooth delivery
  • Conducting post-event evaluations and maintaining event records
  • Other related duties as assigned or required. 

Marketing Strategy and Analytics Support 15%

  • Supports strategic marketing planning through research, data analysis, and performance tracking.
  • Conducting market research and environmental scans
  • Accessing and analyzing social media and web analytics
  • Supporting the development and execution of marketing plans aligned with enrolment and awareness targets
  • Identifying creative approaches and new marketing opportunities
  • Other related duties as assigned or required. 

 

Internal Communications, Collaboration, and Stakeholder Support 15%

  • Works collaboratively across departments to support communications, alignment, and relationship-building.
  • Coordinating with internal teams on marketing and event needs
  • Supporting public relations and internal communications initiatives
  • Assisting with website updates and content coordination
  • Organizing and supporting planning committees and meetings
  • Other related duties as assigned or required. 

 

Administration, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement 45%

  • Ensures documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements are met while supporting ongoing improvement.
  • Developing and maintaining annual work plans
  • Preparing reports and presentations for leadership, Board, and stakeholders
  • Maintaining organized digital files and documentation
  • Reviewing outcomes and producing data-driven evaluations
  • Participating in staff meetings, committees, and training sessions
  • Other related duties as assigned or required. 

 

EDUCATIONAL KNOWLEDGE
 

Completion of a formal post-secondary/college program of one to two academic year in a relevant field such as Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism, Event Management, Broadcasting or a related field that provides skills in Marketing, Communications, Media, and Event coordination.

 

EXPERIENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / CULTURE AND LANGUAGE EXPERTISE
 

Over 1 year and including 3 years of experience working in Marketing, communications or public relations coordination

Event planning and management, including logistics, budgeting, and vendor coordination

Development of marketing materials such as brochures, social media content, videos, or advertisements

Managing campaigns or projects with measurable outcomes

Experience working within a First Nations or Indigenous organization, providing familiarity with community priorities, culture, and stakeholder engagement

 

Criminal Record Check 

The successful candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Background Check – Vulnerable Sector Screening that is satisfactory to Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) prior to the first day of work at Six Nations Polytechnic, and an Offence Declaration that is satisfactory to SNP by their first day of employment at Six Nations Polytechnic.

POSITION TYPE: Existing Vacancy 

JOB TYPE: Full-time Permanent 

SCHEDULE: 37.5 hrs Monday-Friday 

WORK MODEL: Hybrid 

PAY BAND: 5; $56,412.51 - $66,096.25 The target hiring salary for this position is minimum (Step 1) up to 45% of the pay band. Considerations for new hire step placements include experiential knowledge and/or language and cultural expertise.
