  is accepting applications for the full-time, permanent position of

“LSK Elementary School Caretaker”

Closing Date February 17, 2025, at 12:00PM

 

Position Purpose

 

The Lloyd S. King (LSK) Caretaker is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties as assigned in order to ensure the security and safety of the LSK Elementary school and its staff, students and visitors.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • A minimum Grade 12 or the equivalent
  • Workplace safety training
  • Certified in WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
  • First Aid and CPR Certification or willingness to obtain prior to probationary period being completed

 

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
  • Knowledge of the proper handling and storage of chemicals used in cleaning and maintenance

 

Skills & Abilities

 

  • Ability to lift heavy object up to 50lbs. The successful applicant will be required, at applicant’s expense, to obtain a doctor’s certification on his/her ability to be able to repetitively lift (up to 30lbs), bend and twist
  • Ability to properly operate all equipment to complete the necessary cleaning such as: shop vac; change of accessories, change from dry vac to wet vac, and cleaning the filter.
  • Ability to operate a sky-jack lift
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

 

Other Requirements

  • Applicants will be required to provide a criminal reference check that includes a vulnerable sector check
