Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Janitor/Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the building and surrounding areas are clean, safe, and presentable. Duties include cleaning and disinfecting high-traffic areas, emptying trash receptacles, and performing minor repairs as needed.

This position requires regular interaction with residents, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

The Janitor/Maintenance Worker will also be responsible for contacting the Public Works Maintenance Department for any tasks that fall outside their scope of work.

EDUCATION:

  1. Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Previous employment experience in a similar capacity.
  2. Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
  3. Ability to perform the full range of janitorial duties as required including lifting (up to 50 lbs.), sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and operating equipment.
