GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Operational Services Supervisor, the Transportation relief worker is responsible providing safe transportation for Ganohkwasra clients/residents; transporting client/resident to and from their session or residence; document and report any occurrences that may happen while transporting Ganohkwasra client/resident ; call the proper authorities when there is a potentially dangerous situation or emergency while transporting Ganohkwasra client/resident; conduct and maintain administrative duties; and promote a supportive, respectful and harmonious team environment.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (O.S.S.D)
- Understanding of the impact of family violence on the individual, family, clan, nation and community.
- Knowledge of Haudenosaunee history, culture and customs.
- Must provide three written letters of reference
- Must provide a current Criminal Records Search including a Vulnerable Sector Screening Report
- Must possess a valid G class Driver’s License and provide a proven safe driving record as indicated by a Driver Record Search
- Preference will be given to applicants of Native ancestry

- Knowledgeable of Haudenosaunee culture.

- To complete UMAB training when available

DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Under the direction of the Operational Services Manager, the Security Guard shall adhere to the Ganohkwasra Minimal Standards and is responsible for:
Conducting and maintaining administrative duties by:
- submitting annual work and training plans
- adhering to and abiding by the contents of the Ganohkwasra Family Assault Support Services Operations Manual
- completing monthly reports and year end reports including statistical data
- participating in and being prepared for supervision sessions
- attending all mandatory meetings and trainings
- submitting all internal and external documentation to immediate supervisor for review and signature
- Completing vehicle maintenance logs
- Reviewing daily transportation schedule
Ensuring Ganohkwasra vehicles are kept safe and tidy by:
- Completing vehicle safety inspections on all Ganohkwasra vehicles
- Cleaning any garbage or food out of Ganohkwasra vehicles
- Washing Ganohkwasra vehicle using wash cards provided
- Driving in a safe manner that abides with the highway traffic act
- Filling Ganohkwasra vehicle with gas at end of shift if below half a tank remaining
Ensuring Ganohkwasra Clients/Residents are kept safe by:
- Completing an Unusual Occurrence report when necessary
- Calling emergency services/Team manager when necessary
- Using de-escalation skills when needed
- Reviewing/signing of Ganohkwasra alert binder
- Not engaging in any verbal/physical behavior from community members/Ganohkwasra residents/clients
- Maintaining confidentiality of all client/resident information
- Ensuring client/resident arrives on time for their session/appointment
Promoting a supportive, respectful and harmonious team environment by:
- working cooperatively and in coordination with other staff members
- communicating concerns with all staff members in a sensitive and direct manner to promote understanding and resolution
- participating in special events related to client and community wellness spirit
