SALARY: $65,000 per year

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Under the direction of the Outreach Services Supervisor; the Ganohkwasra trainer, is responsible for the development, planning, facilitation and evaluations of Ganohkwasra training and workshops. The Ganohkwasra trainer will facilitate, co-facilitate and support Ganohkwasra trainings to Community, Ganohkwasra clients/residents and Ganohkwasra staff.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

· Post Secondary Graduate Education, Social Work, Public Relations, and/or relevant discipline or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and work or life experiences.

· Experience with Facilitation and curriculum creation is considered an asset.

· Understanding of the impact of family violence on the individual, family, clan, nation and community.

· Understanding of the dynamics of family violence, human trafficking, sexual violence and abuse and its effects on individuals, family and community.

· Proficient knowledge in Graphic Design, Canva, PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher, Email, Internet, Social Media & Web Design

· Excellent presentation/communication skills.

· Knowledge of Haudenosaunee history, culture and customs.

· Must provide three current written letters of reference

· Must provide a current and favorable Police Records check including a Broad Record check.

· Must possess a valid Driver’s License and provide a Driver Record Search

· Preference will be given to applicants of Native ancestry

DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES

 

Under the direction of the Outreach Services Supervisor, the Ganohkwasra trainer will adhere to the Community Education Minimum Standards and is responsible for the following:

 

Creating and promoting Ganohkwasra trainings/workshops for the organization by:

· responding to requests to develop information for Ganohkwasra trainings/workshops

· creating and posting Ganohkwasra trainings/workshops on all Ganohkwasra social media sites

· developing and updating Ganohkwasra training menu, flyers in and around the community and virtually to agency partners

· designing, developing and maintaining inventory of PR materials including media ads and monitoring distribution for Ganohkwasra trainings

· Facilitating the PATCO - training

· maintaining and updating information on the Ganohkwasra training menu

· networking, establishing and maintaining a good rapport with community agencies and other resource people

 

Coordination and facilitation of Ganohkwasra trainings by:

· Promote and discuss any questions from external agencies about Trainings offered by Ganohkwasra.

· Assist with scheduling any Ganohkwasra training requested. (including booking of room/space, any travel arrangements, materials needed)

· Book caterer for training when needed and provide refreshments ie. Coffee, snacks

· Confirm dates for training facilitators well prior to training dates requested.

· Complete and submit invoice for training.

· Schedule any planning meetings that may be required before training dates with facilitators.

· Assist with Informing maintenance team of any set up that is required with as much advance notice as possible.

· Assist with completion and submission training facilitator expense claims after completion of training.

· Complete year-end report on Ganohkwasra training completed with cost analyst.

· Completing and distributing training certificates

· Complete detailed financial tracking information (profit/loss)

· Other duties related to coordination of Ganohkwasra training.

· Assist with Planning and coordination of the Ganohkwasra training week

· Planning and coordinating staff practicum training sessions

· Planning and Facilitating staff lunch and learn workshops

· Assisting in planning Ganohkwasra Conferences

· To ensure Ganohkwasra trainings/workshops accommodate to various learning styles

 

Assisting staff with resource material needs by:

· developing and maintaining Ganohkwasra training menu

· gathering and developing both traditional and non-traditional resource material as well as a list of resource people

· preparing training/workshop material (i.e. creation of videos/certificates etc) when deemed necessary

· Monitoring all Ganohkwasra promotional materials used for training/workshops

· development of graphic designs on reports and documentation

 

Conducting and maintaining administrative duties by:

· assisting management with funding applications, proposals or evaluation processes

· submitting annual work and training plans

· adhering to and abiding by the contents of the Ganohkwasra Family Assault Support Services Operations Manual

· completing monthly operational reports and year end reports including statistical data

· participating in and being prepared for supervision sessions

· attending all mandatory meetings and trainings

· submitting all internal and external documentation to immediate supervisor for review and signature

· supervising and providing support to practicum placement students as directed

 

Promoting a supportive, respectful and harmonious team environment by:

· working cooperatively and in coordination with other staff members

· communicating concerns with all staff members in a sensitive and direct manner to promote

understanding and resolution

· participating in special events related to client and community wellness spirit

· assist with general housekeeping and having knowledge to maintain safety requirements of the

organization

· providing compassion/nurturance to those involved with Ganohkwasra who are experiencing

death/tragedy e.g. cooking, as time permits

· providing lunch relief coverage to the Receptionist once per month and occasional relief for

reception as required

· relating to one another with respect and kindness to promote the principle of the Good Mind

· promote Haudenosaunee principles, values, beliefs, language and customs

· conducting all duties in the strictest of confidence and respect

· being willing to participate in personal therapeutic healing process and provide documentation as

required/requested

· ongoing maintenance of personal and professional growth and development

 

Assist with Community Education events and activities as time permits and/or as requested which may include:

 

· provide tours, presentations and information which reflect Haudenosaunee culture to a wide variety of audiences

· coordinating and implementing special events (either independently and/or with staff and volunteers and/or in collaboration with other community agencies) associated family violence, sexual violence/abuse prevention and awareness activities

· keeping abreast of current information and identifying the community’s family violence prevention needs by liaising with community agencies and Ganohkwasra staff

· coordinating, delivering and evaluation of cultural teaching workshops

· making appropriate community presentations

· assessing and intervening when participants are in need of emotional support and referral

· promoting, coordinating and facilitating Family Violence Prevention Trainings and Groups for staff/volunteers/community

· Providing a meaningful, culturally appropriate community education program focused on family violence, human trafficking, sexual violence/abuse awareness and prevention that is reflective of community needs
