The Grand Erie District School Board’s 2,800 employees provide quality education to approximately
26,000 full-time equivalent students who attend our 72 schools. The Board spans a geographic area
encompassing the City of Brantford and the Counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk. The Board
requires a qualified full-time Food Technician to work under the direction of the classroom teacher and
under the supervision of the Principal.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will assist the teacher with the delivery of lessons (i.e. demonstrations and
supervision), preparing equipment and ingredients, and stock taking. Assisting in supervising food
services and maintaining a high level of sanitation and hygiene are other requirements. The successful
candidate will work with students on an individual or group basis and assist with co-op student training
and supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Secondary School Graduation Diploma (Grade 12 or equivalent education)
  • Minimum of Community College diploma in Food Services, or proof of completion of
    apprenticeship in an appropriate food service trade required (verification is required)
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision
  • Previous experience in a commercial food service operation is required
