Position:                   Facilities Manager

Terms:                      Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range:          $64,00-$79,000, dependent on credential and relevant experience

Job Summary:         The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the Custodial and Maintenance staff, and for ensuring all Kawenni:io/Gaweni:yo School property has an updated and thorough maintenance/janitorial asset management plan in place. In addition, the Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring all administrative reporting requirements are completed for the Board, the Principal and for any other designated stakeholder.

Education/Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in building maintenance.
  • Experience with large commercial or institutional HVAC systems.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of standard building maintenance best practices, cleaning procedures and products.
  • Experience with the safe operation of various maintenance and cleaning equipment, including gas powered, electrical and manually operated devices.
  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling procedures and safe storage guidelines.
  • Certification in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS).
  • Ability to use computers and be comfortable with Microsoft 365 programs, including Outlook, Excel and Word.

Skills/Abilities

  • Good verbal communication skills, demonstrated through respect and humility.
  • Must be an effective team player and a results-focused leader.
  • Must be able to effectively and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of the workplace and provide supervision to a team of custodians.
  • Willingness to support the mission and vision of the school.

 Other Requirements

  • CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain such.
  • Must provide the results of a current criminal reference check including a vulnerable sector check.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours.
  • Must be certified in Working at Heights, or willingness to obtain such.
  • Must have a G class license.
