Position:                      Elementary Teacher - MOHAWK

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Kawenni:io/Gaweni:yo School Principal, the Elementary Teacher (MOHAWK) will plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of language instruction with demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate. Further, they will adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs, and interests, and include cultural curriculum adaptations/language inclusion.

Education/Qualifications

• A current member of the Ontario College of Teachers OR
• Actively enrolled in a post-secondary program leading to registration with the Ontario College of Teachers

Knowledge

• A vast knowledge of the Rotinonhsion:ni/Hodinohso:ni culture and/or
• Can speak Mohawk with some
• Working knowledge in operating a computer system with spreadsheets, word processing, database applications and Windows
