Position Overview
The Director, Health and Safety will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing Occupational Health and Safety Programs across ChangeMakers (the Company) with special focus on the First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Claims Helper Program (the Program). The main duties of this role will be working with senior leadership, employees and stakeholders to develop and implement strategies, polices and approaches that position the Company and the Program as a safe workplace using trauma-informed and culturally safe practices, that will protect individuals and the organization, reduce lost time due to injuries and illnesses, and improve productivity. This role will ensure compliance with external health and safety bodies and provide support to the internal teams when it comes to provincial and territory specific labour laws and health and safety regulations, including claims, accident reporting, and compliance with the relevant occupational health and safety legislation.
