Our Dietary Department provides high quality, nutritious meals to patients, visitors and staff of West Haldimand General Hospital. Our Dietary Aides work collaboratively within the Hospital to support the best possible care for our patients

West Haldimand General Hospital is located in the beautiful town of Hagersville, and is a scenic half hour drive to Simcoe, Brantford and Hamilton. Come and join our friendly and experienced team today!

DUTIES

1.             Prepares food items according to the daily menu cycle for patients, caterings and cafeteria guests, and ensures the safe preparation of food. 

2.             Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all work areas.

3.             Provides exceptional service to patients and guests of the Hospital. Delivers patient food trays and retrieves as required.

4.             Operates the cash register in the cafeteria at lunch and as needed.

5.             Dietary staff at West Haldimand General provide service in accordance with our Mission, Vision and Values of innovation, collaboration, accountability, respect, inclusivity and person-centered.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1.                   Successful completion of Healthcare Food Service Certificate and/or Food Handlers Course at the time of applying.

2.                  Minimum grade 12 education.

3.                  Previous hospital or health care experience working in the dietary department.

4.                               Knowledge of dietary equipment.

4.            Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the health care team, both verbal and written.

5.            Ability to demonstrate attributes that contributes to a respectful, caring environment.

7.            Ability to stand for long periods. Repetitive reaching, bending, climbing step ladder, pushing and lifting using good body mechanics.

8.            Ability to set priorities and organize work in response to department needs.

9.            Past performance and attendance will be considered as part of the selection process.
