Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 9:00p.m.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment at Standing Stone School, an FDK to Grade 6 elementary school within Oneida Nation of the Thames.

This position ensures the ongoing cleanliness, safety, and security of school facilities to support a healthy and welcoming learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The Custodian performs daily cleaning and maintenance of classrooms, hallways, offices, washrooms, and common areas, as well as waste removal, floor care, surface disinfection, and replenishing supplies. The role also includes basic maintenance duties and ensuring custodial areas remain organized and properly stocked.

In addition, the Custodian is responsible for securing the building, including locking doors, setting alarms, and reporting safety concerns. The position also supports school events through setup and cleanup and assists with moving and organizing supplies as needed.

EDUCATION:

  1. Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Previous employment experience in a custodial capacity.
  2. Must be able to perform the essential physical duties of the position which may include lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, stairs/ladder climbing, and operating motorized equipment.
