JOB SUMMARY: The Childrens Mental Health Worker reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Manager of the Kanikonriio (Good Mind) Child and Youth Programs, Six Nations of the Grand River Social Services.
The Children’s Mental Health and Addictions Worker are to provide a range of direct services and/or consultation regarding treatment intervention, safety plans, providing indigenous youth with ongoing services while attending schools on Six Nations territory and surroundings areas (Brant County, Haldimand, Norfolk, etc.). Working cooperatively with community mental health professionals in an educational/community-based environment dedicated to providing the highest standard of service. The Children’s Mental Health & Addictions Worker will use strength-based, trauma-informed approach and will collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary team to coordinate services and support in consultation with individuals and partnering programs.
