Position: Analyst, Screening

Location: Hybrid. The Partnership’s head office is in downtown Toronto. Candidates can work anywhere in Canada.

Status: Full Time, Permanent

Job Level: Level 5 salary range: $70,723 - $95,683 per year; Compensation offered will be based on an assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, while ensuring internal equity.

Division Overview

The Cancer Systems and Innovation Division supports initiatives to improve equitable access, to better experiences and outcomes, and to advance reconciliation throughout Canada’s cancer system. The division enables system change with data, research, innovation, and modelling. Work of the division is primarily accomplished through partnerships across Canada to implement evidence-informed and co-developed solutions, encompassing everything from prevention and screening to diagnosis and clinical care through to palliative care and survivorship

 

Overview of the Role

The Analyst, Screening supports the Cancer Systems and Innovation Division in carrying out projects and initiatives to achieve organizational priorities. Reporting to the Manager, Screening, the incumbent coordinates and provides support to deliver on program/project objectives. As a highly organized professional with strong technical and critical thinking skills, this position delivers on the tasks of the job while contributing to CPAC’s overall vision to reduce the burden of cancer on all Canadian

 

Core Responsibilities and Activities

  • Supports the implementation of pan-Canadian initiatives to increase appropriate participation in, and the quality and equity of, cancer screening.
  • Supports the successful development and execution of plans that align with stakeholder priorities and CPAC’s mandate.
  • Supports the Leads, Managers, and Director in developing and scoping new priorities including large scale pan-Canadian initiatives to enhance the quality, equity, and patient experience of cancer screening.
  • Conducts environmental scans and literature reviews related to portfolio work and decision-making.
  • Works with the Leads and Managers to support pan-Canadian network meetings, workshops, and project teams by developing background materials, content, presentations, and agendas.
  • Leads engagement with key experts and stakeholders through the convening of time- bound and action-oriented working groups to advance the priorities of partners and CPAC’s mandate.
  • Develops documents (e.g., correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, knowledge products, etc.) by utilizing evidence to support partner engagement and decision- making related to implementing CPAC’s mandate and priorities of the Screening portfolio.
  • Supports the Manager in planning, including the development of long- and short-term plans and projects and determine desired project outcomes.
  • Supports management of external vendor and partner funded contracts including timely delivery of quality products and milestone and budget monitoring.
  • Assists the Screening Director and cross-functional programs of work as needed

 

General Accountabilities

  • Collaborates with others to establish project plans including the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, development of recommendations, and identification of opportunities to collaborate both internally and externally.
  • Works with the Analytics team to design and implement indicators and targets that measure and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of screening initiatives.
  • Mobilizes evidence, knowledge, and other information in reports, presentations, briefs, etc. with the needs of the target audience in mind and supports planning and execution of partner-focused knowledge translation and exchange activities.
  • Provides support throughout the organization as required including other duties and ad hoc projects as required

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in health sciences, public health, epidemiology, or other relevant discipline, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the non-profit or healthcare sector is preferred. If less than 3 years, an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Experience conducting qualitative and/or quantitative analysis including knowledge of healthcare resources such as PubMed, Medline, and others.
  • Experience working in the area of cancer control or population-based cancer screening would be an asset.
  • Experience with implementation and knowledge translation is an asset.
  • Bilingual in both English and French is an asset.
