Perfect Your Job Posting with These 5 Simple Tips!

Here are 5 tips employers can utilize to maximize their job posting!

  1. Include Salary

A lot of the job descriptions that we receive do not include salary. Although it sometimes may be hard for employers to include this information, it really benefits job seekers. Candidates are attracted to job posts that include salary information. If you are comfortable sharing this, you can include it in the form of a range. More qualified candidates can expect to earn towards the upper end of the range, while someone who is considered ‘entry-level’ would start at the lower end and work their way up.

2. Brand your document!

Including your logo and dedicating time to the overall formatting will go a long way. If someone recognizes your company logo, it increases the likeliness that they will click to read more about the position. Often times, candidates will be drawn to a position if it’s a reputable employer that they recognize.

3. Application deadline date is obvious

Often the application deadline will be hidden in a large paragraph or at the bottom of the page. Ensure your application deadline date is one of the first things candidates see when they look at the posting. Use the following template below to help you craft your posting!

4. Include social media and website links

This is a great opportunity to increase awareness of your brand! Where can candidates go for more information about your company? Ensure you are taking advantage of these features below on our job board to help increase engagement on your posting!

5. Provide a brief overview of your organization

What is your organizations mandate? Include a brief paragraph about your organization and your mission and vision. This will help candidates get a better idea of what you do and could potentially motivate someone to apply once they have learned more about your organization.

Remember, you are selling your company to prospective employees. You want your business to stand out and attract the best possible candidates. Take a few extra minutes to run your ad through a spell-checking program. You can even have someone else give it a read to make sure you are getting the right points across.

Most importantly, create a clear call to action and easy-to-understand instructions for how you want candidates to respond to your ad. For example,
