Position: Six Nations Greenhouse Food Production Youth Employment

Eligible Candiate: Graduate of High School, College or University or a youth in transition. Persons with disabilities.

Target Age Group: 15 - 30 years of age.

Education: Interest in entry level certified organic greenhouse growing, agriculture and horticulture. Social sciences, food sciences, business, mathematics, biology, indigenous studies, or anthropology. 

Abilities/Skills:
The orientation trainee will possess entry level skills in:

• Ability to work in an office place setting, community-based setting and greenhouse setting.
• Established rapport, team play, speak in a group of team players.
• Ability to follow weekly work plan generated by Six Nations GFT Training Plan.
• Ability to work with supervision independently and as a team on tasks assigned weekly.
• Some familiarity with computer multi-media workstation.
• Familiarity with organization and working on a schedule.
• Having knowledge and interest on agriculture studies is an asset.
• Interest in agriculture and food sciences. 
• Interest in agriculture business.
• Must have own means of transportation. 

Background:

• The successful candidate is considered an entry level horticulturist with the ability to manage organic plants in a greenhouse setting on a daily basis;
• Working at a team player.
