The mandate of the Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) is to provide technical and enhanced advisory services to all First Nations in Ontario.

The OFNTSC requires the services of a Digital Marketing Specialist to coordinate the corporation’s day-to-day social media interactions, grow its overall digital presence, manage its email marketing, develop and implement a digital advertising strategy, update the website and supporting the Communications Manager with any marketing-related activities.

DUTIES:

Social Media:

●        Utilize data and analytics to develop strategies to increase and engage our audiences

●        Work collaboratively to plan, write, develop and post social media content, and assist with executing a Content Calendar that is timely and consistent

●        Leverage features of all social media platforms (eg. stories, reels, guides, etc) with high quality content to maintain relevance, reach and engagement with our audiences

●        Ensure that brand remains innovative and trustworthy through all forms of content

●        Maintain high level of attention to detail, and edit for consistency in quality, grammar, spelling, tone and brand

●        Manage administrative maintenance of all platforms and social media tools

Day-to-Day Activities:

●        Establish and manage social media calendar

●        Monitor, respond to and engage with our online communities

●        Perform day-to-day logistics for our social media sites and monitor/report on successes and trends, including insights and updates

●        Engage, as appropriate, with our partners’ social media sites and support our signature events online

●        Complete bi-monthly reports, develop insights and provide recommendations for continuous improvement

Email Marketing:

●        Manage all email marketing initiatives for both internal and external audiences, track relevant metrics and use insights to inform overall efforts

●        Creation of Templates

●        List management

Digital Content Creation and Digital Advertising

●        Research, write and design content for our social media sites, website (Drupal) and some of our emails and newsletters, in collaboration with others on the Communications Team

●        Use search engine optimization techniques to enhance content and website metrics

●        Work collaboratively to leverage our content and provincewide activities in creative ways to increase reach, engagement and brand awareness with new audiences

●        Keep up with digital marketing trends

●        Contribute to the development of online advertising specifically engineered to drive traffic to social sites for event registrations and service requests

 

Graphic Design Support and Management:

●        Provide design support as required

●        Produce and maintain templates for commonly requested items

●        Adhere to The OFNTSC’s brand identity guidelines and style guide

 

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS:

Has a minimum of 1 – 2 years’ experience in marketing, social media or design
Post-secondary education, either university or college
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, self-motivated and goal-oriented while demonstrating a passion and commitment to excellence when managing multiple priorities
Past experience producing social media content, managing multiple platforms, as well as channel-specific knowledge (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.) is required
Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and analytical skills
Proficiency in Google Workplace (formerly G Suite) is considered an asset
Experience with Drupal Content Management System is considered an asset
Job Type:

Full-time, contract

Schedule:

·         8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (35 Hours/Week)

Work remotely:

·         Temporarily due to COVID-19, OFNTSC staff are working remotely. Ultimately, when it is safe to do so, our goal is to work out of our offices which are located in Brantford and Thunder Bay, Ontario
